I can hardly believe it. I have not won a darn thing in many, many years. BUT!… I won the blogaversary items from C & G Design!! My friend Dawn is celebrating her year of blogging with a giveaway. I posted this link above on my blog. Because I posted it, my name was put in twice, along with two other followers. It was so dramatic! I went to the site this morning, half asleep, not even remembering today was the day. At the same time the coffee was taking effect, I was skimming over the blog. I realized today was the day, and that opened my eyes. I wanted to skip right to the part where it showed the person that won! I didn’t see a name. That’s how my ADD brain works in the morning. I have the attention span of a flea. So, I decided to do what I would do if I was awake and clear headed….I read ALL of the blog! Further down in the blog I find a video of Dawn’s dear daughter, whom she affectionately calls Madame! Madame is shuffling through the names in a hat she made herself!!…how cool is that. And lo and behold, the name came out of the hat and the camera zooms in and wait a minute…..closer….closer….Oh My Freakin God….it’s MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I am so excited! Here’s the icing on the cake.
Dawn is a crafter and does wonderful work! The giveaway are two dolls and a pillow. They are Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls and a Raggedy Ann and Andy pillow. She MADE them herself back in 1996! They are all adorable and they will soon be a part of my family!
I have the perfect spot for them in my craft/spare room upstairs. I found a hand made child’s Adirondack chair at the dump one Saturday a few years ago. A dog had begun to chew the arms on it….otherwise it was great. I brought it home, sanded it the best I could, and painted it. It sits in that rooms with some not so cute rag dolls in it I got from a tag sale. That will be the Raggedy’s new place in my home….along with the pillow.
I am so excited to see them. I will take pictures when they arrive! Thank you Dawn for offering this wonderful handmade gift to bloggers! I am so honored to receive one of your gifts. I will always treasure it!
If you click on her blog, you will see what I won. I have learned many things from Dawn. One of my absolute favorite crafts she showed us how to make via her blog, was her rain stick. If you go back far enough in her blog, you will see it.
Thanks Dawn! Thanks Madame! It’s funny….I was secretly hoping that Kathleen (another Mainer) would win! Oh….by the way…I forgot to say that Dawn lives in Maine too. Boy, if the three of us ever meet in person, we would have a lot to share with each other. Maybe that will happen some day. :)
