I have been away from the blogs lately because I have been trying to finish a crazy quilt….folk art pillow I started weeks ago. I am now putting the finishing touches on it. It started with some research I did online about crazy quilts and I looked at lots of photos I found on craft sites. I never seem to do things the conventional way, so it is completely different than any I saw! I will share it with you when I am done. In the past, I would start a project and then it got tucked away in some closet for a few years never finished. I still have a few of those items around! Today I try to finish what I have started. I try to be a little more disciplined about my crafting but I struggle with it. I guess it is all part of growing up. It is about getting rid of that terrible character defect we can all have called procrastination! So, I am getting closer to finishing this pillow….maybe a couple more days. As I get to the end of it, I become more and more critical of my work. I think….oh I should have done this or that….I drive myself crazy! Just before Christmas I was busy making pincushions for all the women in my family. I made quite a few of them and I monogrammed names on them all. Everyone loved them….but inside I felt like I did not do my best! Sewing for me is very calming. I just started doing this about 6 months ago and it has become quite addicting already. The last time I sewed anything was about 40 years ago. I thought I would share some of my pincushions with you. Here are some photos….
You see what I mean about being addicted!…Ha Ha
