Is everyone ready for Easter? I have purchased a few small bunnies from Marden’s and a couple other little treasures too. The weather has been awesome here in Maine and the snow is completely gone in my area. I am planning (on paper) my vegetable garden for 2010. I rotate crops every year and try to do companion planting when I can. This year I would like to try broccoli rabe in the garden. Anyone every try it?
Easter, happens to be my wonderful husbands birthday too this year! He will be 49!! Next year will be the big one! I am in hopes of having an Easter/birthday gathering with family. That would include a baked ham, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting decorated with colorful jelly beans and what ever else we come up with. Usually every family member brings something.
Meanwhile I am doing crafts. I am hooked on making these pin/needle cases! I will show you soon. I have many I tried and failed at and some that look pretty good. I also am looking for a craft that I can do using old sheet music??? Sheet music with beautiful graphics on the front….some I cut out and some that are whole. Any ideas out there??? Please any help would be much appreciated….this has been bugging me for a while and there does not seem to be anything on Google that I can find???
My dad collected sheet music and had a ton of it. Everyone brought it to him. I have quite a few pages left that were his….most I sold as I was really not sure what to do with it.
So….any help would be great! I hope you are all doing well? It took me a while but I added some new bloggers to my side bar and a cool cat. It took me forever to figure that out!! Some cool blogs so check them out! Happy Easter to you all…………will be back soon with Easter/Birthday photos. Oh and I just found out there WILL be a Port Hole 2010 after all!!

Yeah!! My brother had planned on NOT playing music there this year but someone changed his mind. We are planning on being there July 30th and we cannot wait. I will keep you Mainers informed. Maybe you can come too this year??? Wouldn’t that be fun!!

Porthole 2010? Don't know what that is.
"I" know what it is! Almost went last year....
sheet music - decoupage onto hat boxes or trays. Perhaps incorporate into a family calendar with all of the family birthdays, anniversaries, etc. on them. You could scan the music, use the art work as the calendar picture and the actual music as the background for the calendar pages.
Eva...I dropped in a link for you!
Elenka:...Oh I know you know!! I hope you come this year!!
Evansmom:...Wow...thank you...those are great ideas. I will definitely think abou trying one of those...thanks again! You have come up with quite a few of them.
i love that old sheet music. i would probably decoupage it onto a tray. the graphics are wonderful! i grew broccoli which was fantatic but have not tried the rabe yet.
Jaz:...Thanks...I will remember to pick up old trays at yard sales this summer and try that! I tried growing broccoli years ago and it bolted on me so I gave up. I really want to try the broccoli rab thinking it may be different somehow? Thanks for popping in!!
I always get my husband and nieces Easter gifts....My Mom, when alive, gave me a white chocolate rabbit every year....Miss that.
Love the sheet music. My uncle taught me the song, "Your Old Gray Bonnet' when I was about 4 years old. I still remember it. I use sheet music in some of my art work, but I love the idea off using them on trays and hat boxes. Can't wait to hear more of your garden plans, and can't wait to get together with you and Dawn...Hugs, and luv, Kathleen
Oh Kathleen...our mom's were so much alike....must have been the Catholic thing to do! Mine always got me something too and I also miss it! My mom sang that song all the time. When I got old enough, she sang the not so clean version in front of me! That was pretty funny. Great idea to use it with scrapbooking. I just emailed you and can't wait to get together!! I am so excited!!
I was going to say, good for scrapbooking. I just saw something on aging copied sheet music, you get your copies together in a roll, put a rubber band around it and place it outside for about 2 weeks. It might be a better idea than using the real old stuff, I might put that around old family photos.
Rain, rain, go away....
